First, there was Gol D. Roger. The man who had everything. The man who died, only after depositing the world's greatest treasure at the end of the Grand Line. One Piece- the man who acquired this treasure would surely become the next King of the Pirates. And someone did, years after the death. Monkey D. Luffy.
Luffy's reign was great. Piracy was in full swing, and, frankly, there was nothing the marines could do about it. This ended, however, when Luffy died of mysterious causes. The crew, after a month of struggling to stay together, split up and went their separate ways. With the Pirate King gone and nothing to start a new era, the marines took action against those other strong crews which might attempt to take the title of Pirate King. For the most part, they succeeded. The marines started to sweep across the world; the cardinal seas, the Grand Line, the Calm Belt, nothing was safe. Soon, piracy was a distant memory in the hearts of all adventurers, and the World Government was completely in control, for once.
Then, it happened.
His name was Red. Okay, so his alias was Red. No one really knew his last name, they just knew that he and his crew were called "The Last Pirates." They were going to be executed all at once; lined up at the gallows, they allowed Captain Red to have his last words.
"You lazy bunch of gits... where's your sense of adventure? Of romance? It's not the government's fault piracy is ending; it's yours! You're too lazy to fight for freedom! Get off of your lazy asses! One Piece is still out there! It's time for a new era- the Era of--"
Cut off, Red was hung until he stopped twitching. But his words had taken their toll; spread through the world by newspapers and word of mouth, soon a new era began. The rekindled quest for One Piece begins! Sail the seas as a ruthless pirate, a marine fighting for justice, or even as a simple merchant! The choice is yours, and either way, fight for your dreams and your beliefs! Never give up, or forget the importance of those around you and your nakama! And join the Quest for One Piece!
