The rowboat creaked as it sailed across the sea... the very very vast, big sea. "Why did i not pack more water in this damn boat." said a voice in the rowboat. The voice was coming from a man who was apparently suffering from dehydration, or possibly even suffering from the crazies from drinking sea water though most likely the first. The man was resting on the bottom of the boat trying to stay out of the suns light under his sail, though it wasn't working as well as he hopped because the sun was directly above him and giving off little to no shadows for him to hide under.
"Ugg why could i not have asked for directions!" yelled the man as he shot up from the boat screaming off into the sea, though he fell back down into the boat as his energy left him again. "I hate this boat... and the sea. Just had to leave the last town didn't i? I could of found a nice girl there, make a few kids and rest easy for the rest of my life..." he began to rant on as she shot up again "No way, like i would even consider that." he began to say again as he could hear the sound of seagulls around him and one landed on the edge of the oar which was hanging over the edge of the boat. At the mere sight of it his mouth began to water, "Come here little birdy." he said deviously.
A minute or so later the bird was in his hand and was holding up his sword to its head, the bird making strange faces like it was begging him for its life. He would even consider letting it go if he wasn't starving. Though at that moment Hayate looked up and saw something wonderful...Land. As he saw the land he tossed the bird overboard, it falling into the water as the bird signed in relief. Though at that moment a giant set of jaw's rose and engulfed the bird, the seaking moving back underwater as Hayate began to row towards land.
A few minutes later Hayate landed at the dock and rushed towards the town not bothering to look at anything around him as he tried to find the closest tavern he could see. Rushin up the the bar demanding the biggest meal they had and water.. lots of water.
Some time later Hayate sat at the bar table full and thirst quenched he turned around as he nearly had a heart attack. Every single person in the bar was wearing a marine uniform. He turned back around with a shocked look on his face trying not to say crap... crap.. crap, for he was a pirate. But... without a bounty he wasn't a known pirate. The thought of his brought up a sign of relief, still suffering a bit from the dehydration knowing him freaking out was not like himself.

Beatriz K. Montelle xxxA slow, mournful sound hovered above the East Blue sea, the quiet and calming melody attracting a few fisherman from their primary tasks. The music was soft, sweet and quiet, coming from a small instrument nested carefully in the crook between a young girl's shoulder and neck. The bow slowly moved over the strings, and the strings emitted the peaceful melody. After one, long and sweet note, there was a quick, yet smooth transition into a faster, quicker more upbeat tune. The musician was Beatriz K. Montelle (Bea, for short), the instrument was the violin, and the song was the Canon Rock, a classical yet fun piece. Bea was, quite literally, jolted from the song when the bow of her boat hit the docks. Her foot, which had been tapping, silenced, as did the instrument. Her eyes had been closed, her body rocking, dipping and moving to the beat was now still. "Oh," Bea said, looking around with a blank stare. "I made it."xxxSetting her violin carefully in it's case and putting her war scythe, a funny little weapon Bea had a certain fondness of, in a sheath on her back. As for the boat itself, she simply tied it off and locked the cabins, the key to the door on a necklace she was wearing. Mainly because if the key were anywhere else, she'd have lost it by now. Stepping foot on the docks, her belly rumbled in a loud, complanative fashion. Putting a hand over it and giving her stomach a vacant and confused stare, she simply let the growl play out before a slight blush covered her face. "Oh yeah... I ran out of food this morning." Glancing around, Bea looked to the nearest person- a rather shady gentleman with a scraggly beard and one lazy eye- and tapped him on the shoulder. "Excuse me, sir, could you tell me where the nearest bar or restaurant or foody-servy place is?"xxxThe man let his lazy eye trail up and down her thin frame before an iffy smile lit his face. "Yes I can, little lady. Right up yonder, past the blacksmith's shop. Has the best damned takoyaki you'll ever taste."xxxBea, thinking nothing of the creepy smile, weird appearance and overall strange aura, simply grinned. "Thank you, sir!" Without a second thought, Bea skipped off into town, her violin case swinging in her hand and her scythe sheathed precariously on her back. Without a care in the world, Bea swung open the door and entered the bar filled with marines, as if it were the most natural thing for a self-proclaimed pirate musician to do.

Hayate sighed for a few moments trying to think of how he got himself into these messes, he looked over to the bartender "Mate question. Why are there so many marines here? Just passing though or something?" he said as the bartender started laughing hysterically.
"Good one sir, passing through sure you could say that. You mean you didn't see the giant marine base on the south edge of town?" the bartender said as Hayate looked out one of the tavern's windows and sure enough he could see the giant white walls of the marine base to the south. Somehow he just had the feeling that something would go wrong in this town, though what exactly it was he didn't know. For pirates and marines never got along, even if they were standing in front of each other not knowing what the other was they could just feel it in their gut that their polar opposite was around them.
He took out his crushed back of cig's from his pocket and lit one as some girl came literally skipping into the bar, though by this point in time he was getting used to seeing weirdo's running around the sea's especially since this town had the protection of the marine base they were as carefree as they could be. As he brought his attention back towards the bar table behind him one of the marines sat next to him and began talking "So new guy, we havn't seen you around here before. Passing through or are you get another man looking to serve under the great and powerful marine Captain Raven? Yes yes i know our great captain has become well known through this tiny sea, the crusader of Rushtown the great defender of the east."
"Never heard of him." Hayate said as the marine suddenly got a shocked look on his face, as Hayate chuckled a bit to himself as the marine was shocked that he never heard of the name Captain Raven.
The marine turned his attention towards the girl that skipped in "What about you? Have you come to pledge your loyalty to the great Captain Raven?"

Beatriz K. Montelle xxxBea skipped up to the bar, using it as a rest for her elbows. Honestly, the only thing running through her mind was the word 'takoyaki' followed by little takoyaki-chibis carrying picket signs that read "Eat me!" and "I'm delicious!" Obviously, the musician wasn't one to focus when hungry. xxxStill, she looked to the men to the side, one asking if she was here to pledge her loyalty to Captain Raven. "Captain Raven? Never heard of her." As the bartender approached her and asked what she wanted, she cheerily replied, "Takoyaki! And onigiri!" The bartender was a little shocked by the girl's overall enthusiasm, but otherwise asked what she'd like to drink- to which she ever so childishly replied, "Juice!" xxxAttention freed from ordering, Beatriz looked back to the marine, a puzzled look on her face. "Why's a marine advertising for a pirate, anyways?" The poor musician, idiotic as she may be, had forgotten that there were pirate captains, then marine captains. And perhaps a bar filled with marines wasn't the best place to mention pirates. Still, it didn't occur to her, and honestly, when her takoyaki, onigiri and juice was set in front of her, she couldn't have cared less.

The marine sitting at the bar suddenly got a shocked and feared look on his face along with every other marine in the bar at the words the girl said. The marines shocked that this girl had just given their captain the two greatest insults a marine captain could receive, being called a girl and being called a pirate... a traitor. "...Why... you little... ungrateful PIRA!" the marine yelled as his chair suddenly broke under him and the marine that was about to call the girl a pirate fell face first onto the ground knocked out.
Hayate moved his leg back near the other one, being the one that kicked the stool leg and wondering what this girl had just got himself into. His danger sense that was tingling before was right, something was going to happen here but first he wanted to find more about this so called captain Raven. Hayate had heard that there was now a strong marine presence in East blue though he never heard about the people behind it or rather the one behind it. Hayate never liked marine dogs, so now that he had heard of some strong marine in east blue he wanted to tear the tower down.
Though at that moment there was some commotion brewing outside as marines were seen running around the town armed for battle. It was then that Hayate remembered that the rowboat that brought him to this island was still flying the pirate flag of Agatha the Red, one of the most dangerous pirates in East Blue. Whom he had run into a week earlier and ended up stealing her rowboat. Now the pirates thought that one of her goons or even her herself could be on the island.
A group of armed marines burst into the tavern, after hearing that there were some newcomers inside of it. As soon as they burst in every marines within the tavern pointed towards the bar though not at Hayate or the bartender, rather at the girl. "AGATHA THE RED! You are under arrest under the authority of Captain Raven for Piracy!" one of the marines said as they all got into a line formation aiming their rifles at the girl. As the marines said that Hayate almost burst out laughing at the very thought of it.

Beatriz K. Montelle xxxBea kept eating as she heard someone was being arrested. How funny; apparently some pirate named "Agatha" needed to work on her descretion. Bea looked from the men across the bar, to a man on his face to another who- insert double take here- had green hair. Once she was done looking the guy with green hair over (in conclusion, he looked like a badass), she turned behind her and saw a line of men with rifles looking straight at... her. "...oh." Eating the last takoyaki- that creepy fisherman had been right, this was some great takoyaki- Bea turned to the men and stood. "My name is Beatriz K. Montelle; daughter of Admiral Montelle. Do you really want to keep aiming those rifles at me?" While Bea didn't care much for marines, nor hiding behind her father's name, Bea really saw no choice, as she couldn't outrun bullets. She could draw her scythe, but then... how would a scythe help a shot to the heart? Answer; it wouldn't. xxxFiguring the dispute was pretty much over, Bea turned halfway to face the bar, grabbing her juice and taking the last drink. The food really hadn't lasted long. Stretching her arms high above her head and yawning, Bea looked back to the marines. "Oi. Are you guys going to stop aiming those at me or what? It's annoying."

At the very name of Admiral Montelle the marines suddenly felt like the greatest idiots in the world, for they had nearly open fired on one of the admiral's daughters for the leader of the marines in the tavern recognized the resemblance between the girl and the admiral after seeing him once at marineford. "HOLD YOUR FIRE!" the marine leader yelled out to the rest of his men, as he yelled out the other marines lowered their weapons. Where at that moment the leader could only guess that the pirate they had been looking for must of been the other new commer in the bar though their wonderful powers of deduction.
"HANDS UP PIRATE!" he said as himself and the marines pointed their guns at Hayate, though when they did he had seemingly disappeared as the back door to the tavern swung shut. The marines stood there aiming their guns at a empty stool when one of the marines in the front line coughed a bit at the leader snapping him out of it "uhh... AFTER HIM!" he yelled as the marines charged though the tavern after Hayate though the back door and into the alley.
As the tavern cleared out there was a sense of awkwardness in the air where at that moment Hayate's head pop'd up from behind the bar counter. Apparently he just hid behind the counter as he just opened the back door. He looked over to the strange girl who was apparently the child of a Admiral, where the first thought that came to his head was how much he could get for a ransom though quickly dismissed it. The last thing he wanted was a Admiral trying to kill him. Taking a long puff from his cig "So... girl. Lucky you had a name like that so you didn't get thrown in the brig for piracy."

Beatriz K. Montelle xxxBea grinned, a huge, toothy grin that looked immature and childish. Well, it was immature and childish; everything about Bea was. Looking to the bartender, she asked, "Can I get a refill, please?" The bartender, looking a little pale and shocked himself, agreed quickly. Looking back to the boy who'd been charged with being a pirate, Bea asked, "And what about you? If you hadn't pulled your little stunt, you'd have been hanging by noon tomorrow." Her new drink placed before her, Bea took a sip. Her grin was gone now; she hated to hide behind her father's name. One day, she thought, I'll make a name for myself, so I can stand on my own feet. Then again, she was just lucky they hadn't taken her in anyways. Anyone up to date on the recent happenings with the Montelle family would know the admiral's daughter had "mysteriously disappeared" a month earlier. xxxSnapping herself from her thoughts, Bea looked to the man behind the counter. "What about you? I never caught your name." While Bea wouldn't be surprised if he refused to tell her his name (she was the admiral's daughter, after all), she was curious about the man. Especially if he really was a pirate under Agatha the Red.

"Gekkou Hayate." he said plainly, he wasn't to worried about people knowing his name. He was just hopping that the tales of what he pulled off on the last island he was one, where he had stolen the boat, didn't reach here already for if they did he would he would be considered one of Agatha's underlings. It was a long story that he didn't feel like going into anytime soon but it ended up with him fleeing from the last island because Agatha wanted his head. "Out of the frying pan and into the fire." he quietly said to himself considering that it was a perfect saying for the situation he was now in. "You know that despite the common misconception not every pirate is in league with each other in east blue, you flee from marines with a known pirate and suddenly you are their underling. Bloody idiots." he said admitting to the girl that he was in fact a pirate but just not one in league with Captain Agatha and the Red Pirates even though most pirates in East blue were due to the threat the marines posed these days, and he would rather not be known to be in league with her mostly because he wanted to help save himself from the hang man. "Now where would marines look last to find a pirate?" he asked himself as he looked out the windows towards the marine base. Bingo.

Beatriz K. Montelle xxxBea followed his gaze and an immediate grin lit her face. He couldn't really be planning on sneaking into a marine base, could he? Bea chuckled. What a funny guy! She might just have to follow him and see how this turned out. While she hadn't known he was a pirate before, it didn't surprise her at all that he was. While pirates were a rare breed nowadays, they were extremely interesting people. Or, all the tales Bea had heard of them had caught her sense of adventure and romance. xxxBea stood, draining her juice and putting it down on the counter. "Well then! I'm going with you." Bea had no doubt in his mind that he'd object, so before he had a chance to say anything, she quickly added, "I may seem loud, obnoxious, unnecessary and useless," she ticked the insults off on her fingers, listing the things she'd been called by her 'friends' and sailors she'd hitched rides with, "...but I'm sure I could be of use to you, somehow!"

Hayate knew that the idea was near idiotic but in a way it made sense especially since the base would be near empty wile they searched the town and outskirts for Agatha's pirate crew so the best chance to stay away from the marines was to hide out in the base. But that was not the only reason for he had heard the tales of Captain Raven of the marines, well not by name but he had heard how some marine had arrived in east blue and was bringing down a totalitarian rule upon the surrounding islands. He wanted to see this so called god like marine for himself.
Lighting up another cig he looked over at the girl with a puzzled look for she looked more like some wimpy noble rather than some fighter. Though he didn't really care if the girl tagged along or not for if things went to hell he had a hostage or at least a distraction. "Why not if you got nothing else to do other than tag along with a wanted pirate."
Hayate knew that he had to get moving before the marines realized that he never ran out into the alley, and just getting to the base alone would be no easy task, or at least it would be entertaining to get into it. With that thought Hayate walked out the front door of the Tavern though probably not the best idea he figured that the patrols would be moving outwards rather than staying in the town.

Beatriz K. Montelle xxxBea chuckled to herself a little and followed Hayate out the door. Walking out into the open, especially for a man in his position, seemed to be a tad... reckless. She didn't say anything, though. She was following him which made her little more than a burden. Not that she minded that at all. Looking from left to right, she spotted the tail of a marine's shirt as he went into an alley; nothing more. "Hey, you don't think the bartender will tell on us, do you?" Bea asked, chuckling to herself a bit. Even the way she talked could seem immature at times. Okay... all the time. xxxBea, for a moment, thought back to Hayate's previous statement. She knew he was a pirate, sure, but was he a pirate captain? And did he need a musician? Well, technically speaking, no one really needed a musician, they simply made travel a lot more pleasant. And a little less lonely. Bea's mind started wondering off, imagining a whole crew filled with rowdy pirates. She could move them with her music, start whole parties, dance, have fun and enjoy herself- just like she used to with Cody. She frowned a bit at the sad memory, but let it go, focusing on Hayate once more. First thing's first, Bea thought. I have to find out if he is a captain, and moreover, if I like him enough to join his crew~!

"Probably will yell for the Marines eventually, though hopefully long enough to get out of the immediate area." he said considering how long it would be before the marines caught wind of his trail though his face and tone of voice indicated nothing even close to concern, rather it was as if this was a daily thing obviously confident enough in his own abilities. It was at that moment that a group of marines came back out of the tavern behind him, the bartender apparently called for them sooner than Hayate had hoped. Though before they could even get though the tavern door Hayate's foot appeared smashing into one of the Marines faces sending him flying back into the other marines knocking them all down.
Hayate seemingly took a extra second to wipe the blood off of his shoe and did something else. He looked back towards the Girl "Time to go!" he said as he ran past her and into the alley directly across the street. I only got one right now... should of took a little extra time earlier to get a few more. I got one free bee so better use it good. He thought to himself as he kept on running towards the marine base as he knew he needed to lose the scent the marines had on him now.

Beatriz K. Montelle xxxBea gave an awkward screech when she saw the marine. While it may be true that Bea was a fairly weak opponent, she was fast. Fast enough to catch up to Hayate, and almost immediately become neck and neck with the man. "Ne, Hayate, that was close. You almost left me." Despite the run, Bea's voice stayed calm and uneffected by the effort. Either way, Hayate had asaulted a marine; true, judging by the uniform he was just a recruit, but attacking a marine would definitely ensure a reward placed on Hayate's head. And if Bea was with him, maybe even one on hers. Luckily, my father is in the Grand Line at the moment, taking care of the disturbances there, Bea thought. Surely if he wasn't, Bea would be apprehended immediately. No, not even that. If he weren't, she never would've escaped in the first place. xxx"So do you have a plan to get into the base?" Bea asked. Surely he wasn't simply planning on storming the base and hoping for the best; that didn't seem like something any rational pirate would do. But then, pirates were pirates and rationality was never really in the picture to begin with. Because the rational choice in this whole situation would be to run away from the base; not towards it. Rationality would be to have taken down Agatha the Red's flag the minute the boat was taken (whoever's boat it may be) and rationality would be to jump back into said boat and get the hell away from the island. xxxBut then, rationality was never really fun, and if Hayate had been making rational choices the minute she met him, Bea wouldn't be running along side him.

"Plan? Nope. The only plan here is to get in the base without being noticed." he said as his plan was basically storming hell's gate though wile making the storming part a little more quiet and stealthy and if anything he could always use the play dead card and that worked every once in a while. In reality Hayate just wanted to see this so called captain Raven and why everyone was so fearful of him, even by his own men speak of him like he would put them in the hang man if they spoke ill of him. If anything this whole ordeal might just help himself make a name for himself other than being a apparent underling of Agatha the Red, one that he was hopping to lose soon.
"So... Skippy Girl." he said as he stopped at the edge of a wall that was opened out towards another street that eventually lead to the main entrance of the marine base. "Got any ideas on how to get in there?" he asked the girl plainly as he looked towards the marine base wall trying to find some way other than the main gate.
