Arrival at Rushtown

"Suit yourself Skip." Hayate said as Bea took her leave of the Captains chambers, as she was shuting the doors behind her Hayate looked back over to Captain Raven who had not moved since before. The two stared each other off, nether not making a move or a sound until the sound of Bea shutting the doors close range though the room and at that moment both Captain Raven and Hayate sprung at each other blades drawn and immediately were caught in a second long dead lock. Though Hayate was using both hands wile Raven was only using one. "Crap"

Bea would suddenly hear a crash within the room and one after another as the two went back and forth. Though the marine was far stronger Hayate had the advantage of speed and agility... for now, and was able to land a few small hits on the Marine though it was not enough. A moment later Hayate's body would be seen crashing though the doors to the captains room flying past Bea and crashing against the stone wall on the other side of the hall. "I would run now Skip." Hayate said seemingly unaffected by the massive damage he just received moments earlier.

Raven came crashing though the debris oft he door blocking the way down the tower leaving only the way up for the two to run away from. Hayate began to move down the hall though was slow enough for Bea to run in front of him so he could block off the Marines attacks.

xxxBea was listening intently at the doors when she heard a tremendous crash. She was at the door's crack, about to open it an inch and peek inside, when Hayate was blasted through the doors and she herself was knocked on her backside a good two feet away from the door. Rubbing her head, she sat up slowly... until she saw the giant, hulking form of the captain following Hayate. "I thought you said you could take this guy!" Bea squeaked, running ahead. Again, her speed was a lot more helpful than her strength would ever be. As they hit a staircase, Bea realized the marine was pushing them up. And if they went up, eventually they'd be trapped on a rooftop or in a dead end, forced to either fight, or face whatever grim fate the marine held for them; Bea had a good idea what was in store for her, but for Hayate...
xxxTaking the stairs two at a time, she frowned. There's got to be something I can do...

Hayate deafened a series of barrages from the Marine captain as he was slowly pushed back up the stairs and when he saw an opening in the captains guard he quickly swept up his leg and landed it straight in the Marines face disorienting him for a second and giving Hayate enough time to quickly turn around and dash up the stairs after Bea.

"I never said i could... i just said i wanted to meet him. Your just putting words in my mouth now." he said in a joking yet mocking fashion.

Though despite the apparent randomness of events he did in fact have a plan and so far it was going as planned, well not exactly but close enough. "Just get to the top of the tower and let me take care of the rest." he said as he looked down at the blood on his blade, knowing that he would have one surprise shot at this working. "Remember Skip the bigger they are.. the harder they fall." he said smirking a bit referring to the height of both the captain and of the tower.

xxxBea grit her teeth together, stopping at the top of the staircase, she yelled down, "Really? What happened to 'it won't take me long to wipe the floor with you'?!" Bea's eyes widened a bit when Raven was kicked... in the face. Honestly, what was it with Hayate and kicking people in the face? She would have to ask him later... if they got out of this alive. Still, she didn't have to be told twice to keep running. She did, however, have enough time to yell back, "Stop calling me Skip, I have a name, dammit!" Rounding a corner, Bea found another staircase heading up. Taking the steps two at a time once more, she shot a glance behind her, hoping to see Hayate in one piece, and not backed into a corner.

It did not take long before Hayate could hear the footsteps of a large man chasing after the two, and he was catching up fast... Really fast, much faster than he expected a man his size to move. "Its only been a minute, i still got time." he said making it almost like a timed challenge, though he knew that if he had better control over his own abilities he could have ended this already but that wasn't the case and as of now his own were difficult for him to use mid combat.

"Skip just don't freak out." Hayate said, knowing she wouldn't know what he was talking about until it came, as he finally came out of the tower and onto the roof. Looking around quickly it seemed fairly average for a marine base. Circular roof with stone slabs and openings in between every few feet. As he looked around he quickly moved away from the stairwell knowing that when Raven came though he would not be happy.

Raven came bursting out of the Stairwell after the two, holding his blade in his hand looking around. Seemingly unharmed by any of the attacks he took earlier, the man was a credit to his own rank and not a man that would go down easily especially when his name was on the line. "You pirates have no where to run now, stop wasting my time for i have a schedule to keep today."

xxx"Freak out... hah! I'm the calmest person you'll ever know!" Anyone who'd known Bea for two minutes would object, but then it was questionable rather Bea was joking, serious or deluded. As the marine appeared on the rooftop, Bea took her place beside Hayate and pulled out her war scythe for the first time. With a wooden shaft that measured out to be four feet tall, and the large handle measuring in at two feet, the scythe was large, light and easy to handle- well, if you knew how to use it as well as Bea did. Turning to the side and keeping both hands on the scythe, Bea's eyes never moved from the captain as she asked, "Still no plan?" Closing her eyes for only a second, she tried to remember just how many floors there were. At least four, probably more than that, but Bea's mind was a little more intent on focusing on the marine's sword than how likely they were to survive a drop from the top of the marine base.

"There's always a plan." he replayed as he watched the marine captain stare at the two intently knowing that he had the two cornered now though even he knew that cornered animals would still attack fiercely. In a moment Hayate dashed at the captain and leaped up higher than his shoulders bring his blade down in a stabbing motion wile using his feet to deflect the blunt side of the captains blade.

Raven grunted as Hayate's blade dug into his shoulder though a moment later the captain grabbed Hayate by the neck and began to squeeze. "You have wasted enough of my time today you filthy pirate." he said as he squeezed Hayate's neck harder now, suffocating him wile talking. "Off to the gallows with you Pirate, How about i take you directly to them?!" the marine yelled as suddenly threw Hayate like a base ball over the edge of the tower.

The captain grunted softly as he turned his head towards Bea "You see child, now stop playing pirate and ...." he was saying but suddenly was cut off the moment the sound of Hayate's body crashing into the gallows was heard. At the same moment the Captains body trembled as he suddenly coughed up blood, and wounds appeared over his body. "What in the world?" he said as the Great Captain Raven fell onto the floor unconscious.

Down a group of marines were crowded around the former gallows, now destroyed when a body suddenly landed on top of it. A body burst out of it, scaring most of the marines around it lifeless for there wasn't a single scratch on the mans body. The man didn't even bother with the marines presence rather he just lit a cigarette and took a puff as a straw doll resembeling a human appeared on his shoulder and fell to the ground, with damage to itself in the same places that the captain was injured.

xxxBea ignored Captain Raven's comment about her 'playing pirate' and watched with horror as Hayate was thrown towards the gallows. "Hayate!" Bea screamed, running towards the edge and looking down. Hayate sat up in the midst of splintered wood and rubble, completely unharmed and smoking a cigarrette, no less. "W-what?" Bea asked herself, eyes wide. Then, there was the horrid sound of flesh hitting the ground. Bea turned to see a bloodied Captain Raven on the ground, unconscious. "...What... What just... happened?" Looking from the Captain from Hayate, the only logical explination was that perhaps the Hayate's attack was so strong it put out a lot more damage than it appeared... but that was still highly illogical. Putting her scythe back in it's sheath, Bea ran past the fallen marine, down the stairs until she was out by the smashed gallows. She could only hope Hayate was still there to explain himself.

As Bea came out of the Marine base he expected her to have a confused, shocked, or something alike look on her face "I told you not to freak out... didn't listen did you?" he said as the marines nearby were to freaked out to even say anything. Hayate bent over and picked up a small straw doll that was laying on the ground next to him and he tossed it to Bea "You want to know what just happened there you go." he said as he looked at the marines with a glare and in that same instant they all ran off scattering from the area.

"I guess you deserve a better explanation. I ate a Devil Fruit and i became a Straw man... well per say. I never got down to the naming it yet. Though if anything i would have to say nasty as hell, meaning that if you ever get your hands on one of those fruits my suggestion bring some to wash out the taste." he said as he walked over to where the marines were previously standing and picked up a blade that one of the marines had dropped for his was still lodged in the unconscious captains shoulder.

xxx"WHO WOULDN'T FREAK OUT IN THAT SITUATION?!??!?!" Bea yelled, throwing the doll back at him and aiming for his head. She hoped the fire from his cigarette ignited the doll and caught his stupid head on fire.
xxxBea's pout softened into a neutral expression, however, when she heard the rest. "A devil fruit, huh?" For a moment, Bea appeared to be lost in thought, before a small smile lit her face. "You're stronger than you look, Hayate-chan." Bea was about to inquire about his pirate crew; what their goal was, how many there were and if he needed a musician, when she realized something of dire importance. "Crap!! I left my violin on the roof!" Without putting thought into it at all, Bea ran straight back into the base, ignoring the fact that there could be marines inside waiting to arrest her and Hayate- or worse, Captain Raven could wake up. However, she'd sat her violin on the ground when taking out her scythe (so she could properly hold it with both hands), and had been too distracted by Hayate's stunt to pick it up. There was no way in Hell she'd leave her poor, defenseless violin on the roof, so the only option was to go back and get it!

Hayate let the doll hit him in the forehead and it bounced off and onto the ground "Cant say i didn't warn you." he said in a sarcastic voice as he looked more closely at the blade he had just picked up, it was a low grade basic model for mass production, nothing fancy but it would do. "Just hurry back we dont know how long it will be before those marines come back with reinforcements." he said as he looked back at the tower door and standing in the middle of it was captain Raven and Bea would be standing right in front of the man.

"You little... little MAGGOTS!" the Captain yelled in a roar of furry as blood flew everywhere as he yelled. The Captain was no longer holding a blade but now was wielding a giant twin sided battle axe as big as him. The captain looked down at Bea "How about i chop your damm leggs off so you cant run anymore, your father is a understanding man!" he yelled as he swong his battle axe sideways aiming for the girls legs.

xxxBea got back to the rooftops to find Captain Raven was in a rather... bad predicament. He was between her and her instrument; and that was one place he did not want to be.
xxxBea leapt just in time to avoid getting her feet chopped off. As she landed, she jumped back, unsheathing her scythe quickly. Head down and face stoic, she said, "I think you underestimate my father's leniency towards ignorant little captains like yourself. Personally, I don't care how angry he'd be if my legs were chopped off by the likes of you- hell, he'd probably be angrier at me for getting hit." Looking up to the man, a slight smirk appeared on her lips, a dark chuckle coming from her chest. "I'll warn you though, Captain Raven. You're in a dangerous position. Because if I have to leave here without my violin, you'll be confined six feet under for the rest of your life!" Bea darted forward, ready to dodge any attacks the man made, and aimed a diagnal slash across his chest.

"And you overestimate your position PIRATE!" the captain yelled as Bea jumped over his axe which landed in the ground and aimed her own attack down at the captain though he was not about to let someone like these pirates get the better of him, not in his sea. The captain thrust up the metal handle of his battle axe to block the girls sytle and at the same time thrusting up his leg at the girls chest to send her flying across the courtyard.

xxxBea saw his knee coming and jumped once more, pushing her scythe against the axe to propel herself high into the air and flip herself over. Strangely, she cared more about her skirt exposing her underwear than Raven attacking her midair.
xxxBea managed to land smoothly in a crouch without any embarrasing mishaps. She grinned, grabbing her violin case. "Well... it was nice chatting, but I've got what I need, and I am no longer in need of your service or company." Darting past the man, hoping there wouldn't be an attack to dodge, Bea shot back towards the staircases. "Oh! I almost forgot! I'll put in a good word for you with daddy~" Turning and running like her life depended on it (which, in a way, it did), Bea snickered to herself. She didn't plan on talking to her father in a long, long time.

Captain Raven was about to chase after her when a piece of wood hit him in the back of the head "Oi Mate! You don't have time to worry about Her!" said Hayate with his normal 'who cares' expression, and a new cigarette lit, who had thrown it moments earlier and dashed at the man with his new blade drawn. Where at the same moment the captain grabbed his battle axe.

"Ill deal with you first then!" the captain yelled as he swung his ax horizontally across where Hayate would be, it was much faster than Hayate had anticipated figuring that the adrenaline was rushing through his body at full speed and he did not have enough time or dodge as the ax cut straight though his chest sending him flying across the Courtyard at the same time. "HAHAHA! Easy pickings!" the captain said as Hayate stood back up without a scratch on him wile behind him towards the Bases wall where the marines were standing one of the marines suddenly shot across the courtyard at the same time bearing the same wounds Hayate would. a straw doll shed from Hayate's body bearing the same damage. The captain looked puzzled for a second "That's how you injured me then... So you ate a Devil fruit? Well this should be interesting then!"
